About Fontalbe

Fontalbe is a spectacular old papermill situated on it’s own island in a unique and tranquil setting. It is surrounded by forests, a lake, rivers and acres of fields in the unrivalled beauty of the Dordogne region of France.

Parts of Fontalbe date back to the seventeenth century. It is being lovingly restored by Rebecca and Greg who want to breathe the life back into the historic building.

Fontalbe is being professionally designed and decorated to the very highest standards. When restored we will offer six, large, en-suite bedrooms in a self-contained Gite. There is a large private pool and indoor and outdoor dining. There will be WIFI throughout and everything that you need to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

It is 25 minutes from Bergerac Airport, which is easily reached from all parts of the UK. The nearest villages are within a five minute drive away and have restaurants, bars and lively markets. Saint-Avit Senieur has a medieval Abbey which is an UNESCO heritage site and on the Route de Compostella. There is a fabulous restaurant where you can dine under the wisteria in the shadow of the Abbey.

Rebecca and Greg aim to offer luxury and relaxation in a unique setting. We hope that you share our belief that Fontalbe is a very special place where you can escape from the modern world and appreciate time with family and friends.
