Your Stay

Are we nearly there yet?

We want your stay at Fontalbe to be memorable, relaxing and fun.  We want you to concentrate on soaking up the atmosphere and making memories.

Your accommodation is completely private. Our lovely caretakers Jayne and Ian will be on site for a few days after you arrive and can help you to book restaurants and attractions and give you advice on things to do. If you have forgotten anything please just ask and they will do their best to help.

Welcome pack

We provide a comprehensive welcome pack, including bread, butter, cheese, milk, coffee, water and, we like to include some regional delicacies for you to enjoy and sample, including some wine and beer. Please let us know if you would like anything special included and we will do our best to arrange this for you.

All the products we include will be available locally and we will let you know where you can replenish them, as we are sure you will want to! Please let us know if you would like anything special included and we will do our best to arrange this for you.

Young children

We welcome children at Fontalbe. They delight in the pool and surrounding woodlands. However, please do bear in mind that the forests and rivers in the grounds are sometimes not an ideal playground . We ask that you keep your eye on little ones.

Kitchen supplies

To make your stay relaxed and easy we supply dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and washing tablets (bio and non-bio) and other cleaning products. We also supply basic kitchen essentials (olive oil, salt and pepper). There are children’s plastic utensils, plates and bowls and two highchairs.

Supermarkets and shops

The nearest Intermarche is a five-minute drive away. There is a boulangerie and a butcher and other artisan shops, restaurants and bars in Beaumont du Perigord (5 minutes), with a twice weekly market in the Summer.

Eating and drinking

We are lucky enough to be surrounded by some of the best food and wine in France. Beaumont du Perigord has two bars, a bistro and a pizzeria. Saint Avit-Senieur has a fantastic restaurant that is not to be missed, Table de Leo, and a lively bar/restaurant, Chez Cathy and Dennis.

Private Chef

Some of our guests like to organise a private chef to cook for them for all or part of their stay. You can also arrange for private wine tastings in the comfort of your own home or you can arrange for a unique wine tasting in a local village. We will provide you with recommendations and contact details when you make your booking. Please don’t leave this to the last minute as they are booked well in advance. If you need any help making arrangements we will do our best to help out.

Cleaning

There is no charge for cleaning at the end of your stay. We do ask, though, that you leave the house clean and tidy.
