Which is the nearest airport to Fontalbe?
Bergerac airport is 25 minutes away and is easily reached from most parts of the UK.
Do I need to hire a car?
Unless you drive here we strongly recommend that you hire your own car. There are several car rental companies at Bergerac airport.
Do I need to bring pool towels?
No, we have beautiful Febronie hamman towels for you to use during your stay. We also provide all bedding and bathroom towels. These are changed once a week.
Where is the nearest supermarket?
There is a good sized Intermarche, a super boulangerie, butchers, wine shop and delicatessen 5-minute drive away in Beaumont. There is a much larger Intermarche hypermarket a 5 minute drive from the airport at Bergerac about half an hour drive away.
What will be there when we first arrive?
We provide a delightful welcome pack when you arrive, including some cheese, wine, bread and chutneys, along with some local treats. This should be sufficient for you to create a light supper on arrival. You will also find a stock of food basics to get you started – tea, coffee, milk, oil, herbs. If there is something that you would particularly like please let us know and we will do our best to provide it.
Each bedroom has a range of Faith in Nature Eco friendly products and Soak and Sleep towels. Basics such as toilet rolls, washing powder and liquid will all be available on your arrival.
Can you be flexible with the check in and check out times?
We have a very short time to get the house ready for the next guests and we want it to look as lovely for them. This makes it very unlikely that we can accommodate changes to the check in times.
Can I bring pets?
We aim to be pet friendly. Please contact us with your request so we can consider your requirements and provide you with our terms and conditions. If you are bringing a pet a small cleaning surcharge will be made. Bringing pets is at the owners’ discretion.
Does the house have air conditioning?
The centuries old thick stone walls ensure the house remains at a comfortable temperature. But, in the height of the summer, should the temperature soar, each bedroom is fitted with an eco-friendly air-cooling unit and fan.
Is the house accessible for disabled people?
As it is such an old building the house there are several steps inside the building and the bedrooms are all upstairs. We would love to accommodate you if at all possible but please do bear this in mind.
Can we do our laundry?
Yes, you can. There is a washing machine, tumble dryer and clothes dryer and we provide washing tablets.
How do I pay for my stay at Fontalbe?
We accept payments by bank transfer. If you wish to pay by credit card, we can do this via Pay Pal. Payments via this method will be subject to a 3% surcharge imposed by Pay Pal which will be added on to your invoice.
